Nuqul Group and the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) organize a series of workshops on the importance of gender and diversity integration in the workplace

Nuqul Group in collaboration with the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) and the Danish Centre for Information on Gender, Equality and Ethnicity (KVINFO) recently announced the launch of a series of workshops focusing on the integration of gender and diversity issues within the human resources systems. These workshops are part of the already established program “Engendering the Public Sphere”.

The workshops which will take place during February and March in Amman, aim at empowering women both socially and economically with important skills that will help them operate within an integrated environment recognizing their efforts and contribution.
On this occasion, Mr. Nicola Billeh, Nuqul Group’s HR Director, commented: “Nuqul Group has always appreciated the value of diversity and encouraged all of its employees to fulfill their aspirations and therefore operate in a heterogeneous environment.”
“We believe that granting equal opportunity in all aspects of employment is a major contributor to the success of any organization and we hope that our partnership will be the beginning of a sustainable relationship with human resource professionals in the private sector.” Mr. Billeh added.
The program which targets Human Resource Managers and Businesswomen leaders from the private sector consists of multiple awareness sessions to be followed by an interactive training workshop targeting the HR Managers in particular which will be conducted by Mr. Eric Dziedzic, the Principal Specialist in Diversity at Novo Nordisk – Denmark. Participants will look into specific business cases and will interact to create a framework for diversity and inclusion strategies and programs guided by key performance indicators that will help measure success and the impact in the future. Insights on best practices will also be studied with full alignment with communication plans that involve stakeholders.
Ms. Fadwa Abdulqader, Project Officer at JNCW, commented: “This project’s long term objective is to transform the basis of the national planning process to become a gender sensitive one that is more responsive to the needs of women; we look forward to creating an enabling environment for women nurturing their careers.”
Ms. Abdulqader also added: “It is an opportunity to validate this experience with Nuqul Group which is considered to be the leading industrial conglomerate in the region. The Group was among the first to join the UN’s Global Compact initiative encouraging sustainable business and transparent reporting; its solid record reflects the right approach and commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainability.”
“As part of JNCW’s near future plans, we aim at establishing a consultancy committee for the private sector, which will encourage the adoption of corporate social responsibility initiatives, and we are glad to have Nuqul Group on board as a role model from Jordan.”
